ဒုတိယကမ္ဘာစစ်ကြီးအပြီးမှာ စစ်ပြီးခေတ် "နာဇီဝါဒဖျက်သိမ်းရေး (Denazification)" မူဝါဒကို စစ်ပွဲနိုင် မဟာမိတ်နိုင်ငံများရဲ့ မူဝါဒတခု အနေနဲ့ ချမှတ်ပြီး တတိယ ဂျာမန်နိုင်ငံတော် (Third Reich) ခေတ် (တနည်းအားဖြင့်) ဟစ်တလာ ဦးဆောင်တဲ့ နာဇီ ဂျာမနီ ခေတ်တုန်းက ဂျာမန် စစ်တပ်ရဲ့ အဆိုးဝါးဆုံးလုပ်ရပ်တွေကို မှတ်တမ်းတင်ထားတဲ့ Documentary film မှတ်တမ်း ရုပ်ရှင်တွေကို ဂျာမန်စစ်သုံ့ပန်းတွေကို ပြန်လည် ပြသခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ဓာတ်ပုံကတော့ အမေရိကန် နဲ့ မဟာမိတ် စစ်တပ်က ဖမ်းမိထားတဲ့ ဂျာမန် စစ်သုံ့ပန်းတွေကို ဂျာမန်စစ်တပ်ရဲ့ ရက်စက်ယုတ်မာတဲ့ လုပ်ရပ်များ မှတ်တမ်းရုပ်ရှင်ပြသနေစဉ် ကြည့်ရှုနေတဲ့ ဂျာမန်စစ်သုံ့ပန်းများရဲ့ မျက်နှာပေါ်မှာ တွေ့မြင်ရတဲ့ ခံစားမှုကို မှတ်တမ်းတင်တဲ့အနေနဲ့ ရိုက်ကူးထားတဲ့ ဓာတ်ပုံတပုံ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ (မူရင်းဓာတ်ပုံကို US Holocaust Memorial Museum မှာ တွေ့နိုင်ပါတယ်။)

လူသားချင်းစာနာမှု ကင်းမဲ့တဲ့ လုပ်ရပ်ဆိုးတွေကြောင့် လူ့အသက်ပေါင်းများစွာ ဆုံးရှုံးခဲ့ရတာကို ကြည့်ရင်း သုံ့ပန်းတချို့က ရှက်ရွံ့ထိတ်လန့် ဝမ်းနည်းစွာ မျက်ရည် သုတ်သူကသုတ်၊ မျက်နှာကို လက်နဲ့အုပ်သူကအုပ်၊ ခေါင်းငုံ့ထားသူက ထားကြသလို တချို့က သိပ်အာရုံမရှိဘဲ စိတ်ခံစားမှု ကင်းမဲ့နေကြပုံကို ဓာတ်ပုံထဲမှာ တွေ့ရမှာပါ။

ခံစားချက် ကင်းမဲ့တဲ့ မျက်နှာနဲ့ ကြည့်နေတဲ့ စစ်သုံ့ပန်းတွေကတော့ ဒီလောက်ရက်စက်ယုတ်မာတဲ့ လုပ်ရပ်တွေကို ကာယကံမြောက်ကျူးလွန်ခဲ့သူတွေနဲ့ ဗြဟ္မာစိုရ်တရားခေါင်းပါးတဲ့သူတွေ၊ ဥစ္ဆေဒဒိဋ္ဌိ ရှိတဲ့သူတွေပဲ ဖြစ်ပါလိမ့်မယ်။

မေတ္တာ၊ ကရုဏာ၊ မုဒိတာ ရှိတဲ့သူတွေ၊ နှလုံးသား နုညံ့သူတွေဟာ ရက်စက်ယုတ်မာမှုတွေကို စိတ်အေးလက်အေး ထိုင်မကြည့်နေနိုင်ပါဘူး။ လက်ပိုက်ကြည့်မနေရက်ကြပါဘူး။ သူတို့ရဲ့ခံစားမှုကို တနည်းနည်းနဲ့ တုန့်ပြန်တတ်ကြပါတယ်။

ပြီးတော့ မေတ္တာ၊ ကရုဏာ၊ မုဒိတာ ရှိတဲ့သူတွေ၊ နှလုံးသား နုညံ့သူတွေဟာ သူတို့ကိုယ်သူတို့ လိပ်ပြာသန့်ကြပါတယ်။ အသက်ရှင်သန်ချိန်ကနေ သေဆုံးသည်အထိ လိပ်ပြာသန့်စွာ နေသွားနိုင်ကြပါတယ်။ လိပ်ပြာသန့်တဲ့အတွက် သေတာတောင် နှလုံးစိတ်ဝမ်း ချမ်းသာစွာ သေရပါတယ်။

သူတို့နဲ့ ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက် ရက်စက်၊ ယုတ်မာ၊ ရိုင်းစိုင်း၊ လူမဆန်တဲ့ သူများကတော့ သူတို့ ဘဝတလျှောက်လုံး လိပ်ပြာမသန့်စွာနဲ့ နေထိုင်ရင်း နောက်ဆုံးမှာ အတိတ်မေ့သလိုလိုတွေ ဖြစ်ပြီး ဘဝဆုံးခန်းတိုင် သွားတတ်ကြပါတယ်။ သေရင်လည်း စိတ်နှလုံး ပူပန်ညှိုးနွမ်းစွာ သေရပါတယ်။

နောင်မှရတဲ့ နောင်တများနဲ့ သေရပါတယ်။

သမိုင်းရဲ့ ဒဏ်ခတ်ခြင်းကို ခံရပါတယ်။

သမိုင်းမှာ နာမည်ဆိုးနဲ့ ကျန်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ဆွေစဉ်မျိုးဆက် လူတောမတိုးတဲ့ ဘဝ ရောက်သွားကြပါတယ်။

လက်နက်မဲ့ ပြည်သူတွေအပေါ် လူမဆန်စွာ အရှင်လတ်လတ် မီးရှို့ သတ်ဖြတ်နေတဲ့ အမိန့်ပေး စေခိုင်းသူ၊ ကာယကံမြောက် ကျူးလွန်သူ၊ မနောကံနဲ့ အားပေးထောက်ခံသူတွေလည်း သူတို့ဘဝတလျှောက် လိပ်ပြာလုံလုံ လိပ်ပြာသန့်သန့် နေသွားနိုင်ကြပါ့မလား?

သံသရာ ဝဋ်ကြွေးကို မကြောက်ကြဘူးလား?

ကျွန်တော်ကတော့ ဒီဓာတ်ပုံကို ကြည့်ရင်း မြန်မာပြည်မှာ မအလ ခေါင်းဆောင်တဲ့ စစ်ကောင်စီက နိုင်ငံတော် အာဏာကို အဓမ္မ သိမ်းယူပြီးချိန်က စလို့ ယခုအချိန်အထိ လက်နက်မဲ့ ပြည်သူတွေအပေါ် လူမဆန်စွာ အရှင်လတ်လတ် မီးရှို့ သတ်ဖြတ်နေတဲ့ အမိန့်ပေးစေခိုင်းသူ၊ ကာယကံမြောက်ကျူးလွန်သူ၊ ဝစီကံ မနောကံနဲ့ အားပေးထောက်ခံသူတွေကို သွားမြင်ပါတယ်။ (ဒီဇင်ဘာ ၈ ရက်‌နေ့ညကတင် ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ် မြောက်ဦး မြို့က ခရိုင်အဆင့် ပြည်သူ့ဆေးရုံပေါ် ပေါင် ၅၀၀ ဗုံး ၂ လုံး ကြဲချခဲ့လို့ ကလေးတွေ အပါအဝင် အပြစ်မဲ့ ပြည်သူ ၃၃ ယောက် ပွဲချင်းပြီး သေဆုံးခဲ့ပြီး ၈၀ ကျော် ဒဏ်ရာရခဲ့ပါတယ်။)

ဒီလူတွေ သူတို့ဘဝတလျှောက် လိပ်ပြာသန့်သန့် နေသွားနိုင်ကြပါ့မလား?

Tharr Phyoe ရေးစပ်ပြီး ဖြူဖြူကျော်သိန်း သီဆိုထားတဲ့ 'ကြယ်' ဆိုတဲ့ တော်လှန်သီချင်းထဲမှာတော့ "နင်တို့ လိပ်ပြာလုံရဲ့လား" လို့ မေးထားလေရဲ့။

ကျွန်တော်ကတော့ သူတို့ကို 'လိပ်ပြာ လုံ မလုံ' မေးမနေချင်တော့ပါဘူး။

ဒီဓာတ်ပုံထဲကအတိုင်း နွေဦးတော်လှန်ရေး အောင်မြင်တဲ့တနေ့ကျရင် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာလည်း 'စစ်အာဏာရှင်စနစ် ဖျက်သိမ်းရေး' မူဝါဒတရပ်ကို အလားတူ ချမှတ် အကောင်အထည်ဖော်ပြီး အာဏာရှင်လက်ကိုင်တုတ် မြန်မာစစ်တပ်က စစ်သားနဲ့ စစ်သုံ့ပန်းတွေကို သူတို့ ကျူးလွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ ပြစ်မှုမှတ်တမ်းတွေကို ပြပြီး၊ ထိထိရောက်ရောက် အရေးယူရမယ်လို့ ခံယူပါတယ်။

Whether one has a clear conscience or not…

After World War II, the victorious Allied powers established "Denazification" as a postwar policy. They showed documentary films, which recorded the worst actions of the German military during the Third Reich—the era of Hitler-led Nazi Germany—to German prisoners of war.

The photograph is one taken to document the emotions visible on the faces of German POWs as they watch a film showing the cruel and brutal acts of the German military. (The original photo can be found at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.)

While watching the immense loss of human life caused by these inhumane atrocities, some prisoners can be seen in the photo wiping away tears in shame, horror, and sorrow; some covering their faces with their hands; some bowing their heads. Others appear inattentive, seemingly devoid of any emotion.

The prisoners watching with emotionless faces are likely those who physically carried out such brutal acts, those lacking in compassion, or those with nihilistic views.

Those who possess love, compassion, and sympathetic joy, those with tender hearts, cannot sit calmly and watch such cruelty. They cannot bear to just watch with folded arms. They respond emotionally in one way or another.

Furthermore, those who possess love, compassion, and sympathetic joy, those with tender hearts, keep their consciences clear. They can live with a clear conscience from the time they are alive until they die. Because their conscience is clear, they can even die with peace in their hearts.

In contrast, those who are cruel, wicked, savage, and inhumane live their entire lives with an unclean conscience. In the end, they seem to forget their past and go to their final rest. Even in death, they die with anxiety and sorrow in their hearts. They die with belated regret. They face the judgment of history. They are left with an infamous name in history. They reach a state where even their relatives want nothing to do with them.

Those who order, command, physically perpetrate, or mentally support and encourage the inhumane burning and killing of unarmed civilians—can they live their whole lives with a clear conscience? Are they not afraid of the karmic debt of *samsara*?

As for me, when I look at this photo, I am reminded of those in Myanmar who, since the military council led by Min Aung Hlaing seized state power by force, have been ordering, commanding, physically perpetrating, or verbally and mentally supporting and encouraging the inhumane burning and killing of unarmed civilians. (Just on the night of December 8th, two 500-pound bombs were dropped on the district-level public hospital in Mrauk-U Township, Rakhine State. As a result, 33 innocent civilians, including children, were killed on the spot, and over 80 others were injured.)

Can these people live their whole lives with a clear conscience? Are they not afraid of the karmic debt of *samsara*?

In the revolutionary song 'Star,' written by Tharr Phyoe and sung by Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein, the question is asked: "Doesn't that bother your conscience?" ("How can you live with yourselves?")

As for me, I no longer wish to ask them if their 'conscience is clear' or not.

Just as in this photograph, I believe that on the day the Spring Revolution succeeds, a policy of "Dismantling the Military Dictatorship System" should similarly be established and implemented in Myanmar. The crimes committed by the authoritarian Myanmar military junta shall be shown to its soldiers and prisoners of war, and they must be effectively held accountable.
